Design & UX
User Experience designers are natural allies of developers, because UX’ers seek to learn what users want and need by showing them stuff, having them try it out, observing them and talking to them.
Making errors is an integral part of the way we humans live. We trip over when we are learning to walk and we press the wrong buttons when we use new UI. This fact is very unlikely to change soon.
The less people have to think, the more people can focus on their goal. True with most activities in life and especially important with interfaces where users patience levels are reducing year on year.
What shall we make? This talk is about what’s coming next for us as designers. What’s the work ahead for us, and what’s our role and responsibility in this future?
Our current notification systems fail to alleviate the constant tension between the need to be focused and the need to be informed; leading to an ever-distracted mind.
Yesterday I was listening to a podcast and heard someone who was about to ask a question saying something along the lines of "..long time fan, first time caller…" and for some reason that got me thinking about Medium. I've been consuming content here for a long time but have never contributed myself with my 2 cents. Today is the day this changes.
